- в FM-диапазоне - на русском, украинском и молдавском языках;

- в СВ-диапазоне - на русском языке;

- в КВ-диапазоне - на русском, английском, немецком и французском языках;

News from Pridnestrovie

****

The Foreign Ministry of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is monitoring the situation in the Security Zone of the Moldavian-Pridnestrovian conflict, and regularly informing the international participants of the Joint Control Commission on all unilateral acts of the Republic of Moldova in the Security Zone, which do not contribute to the maintenance of stability and strengthening confidence.

Recall, October 18, 2013 members of the JCC from Pridnestrovie documented facts of installation by the law enforcement bodies of the Republic of Moldova of a border-migration control checkpoint on the highway "Kriulyany-Dubossary" and the start of construction of concrete structures on the right side of the dam of the Dubossary hydroelectric power station.

On October 22 Moldavian policemen on duty on the right side of the dam of the Dubossary power plant without the consent of the JCC moved their checkpoint 200-250 meters in the direction of the Dubossary dam and took up a position next to the post of the Pridnestrovian militia. After the appropriate measures under the Pridnestrovian delegation to the JCC and the photoing and videoing of the illegally installed checkpoint the Moldavian police officers returned to their former place of service.

Noteworthy is the fact that the "Office of registration and documentation of the population of Bendery Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications" continues its illegitimate activities at the so-called Bendery Moldavian police inspectorate.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie recalls that the installation of the Republic of Moldova in October of this year of immigration control checkpoints on the border with Pridnestrovie, with significant infrastructure, was not coordinated with the Joint Control Commission.

In connection with the above facts the Foreign Ministry of Pridnestrovie appealed to the Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation and Ukraine in the Republic of Moldova and the OSCE Mission to Moldova. The Foreign Ministry of the Republic considers the above facts as concerted unilateral actions by the Republic of Moldova aimed at escalation of the situation, whose inherent goal is imbalance of existing mechanisms of interaction between the parties and the guarantor countries in the Security Zone. In this regard, Pridnestrovian side requested to assist in stabilizing the situation, preventing the escalation in the Security Zone and relieving the tension.

The corresponding letter also stated that the Pridnestrovian side reserves the right to take up to 1 December 2013 adequate response steps aimed at restoring normal interaction in the Security Zone within existing documents. These documents do not envisage presence in Bendery of Moldova police who are not members of the Joint operational investigative group of the parties, the operation within Bendery Inspectorate of Police of the Office of records and documentation of the population, the presence of the RM checkpoints, uncoordinated with the JCC in the Security Zone.

However, the competent authorities of Pridnestrovie continue to register various provocative violations committed by the Republic of Moldova in the Security Zone. So, the Pridnestrovian side has obtained photos and video footage showing the arrangement by the Moldavian side in the dining room of the military base of the RM at the Joint Staff of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces of an extra pass, made without the knowledge of the Joint Military Command and the Joint Control Commission. This created the conditions for the hidden and uncontrolled entry of Moldavian servicemen and unauthorized delivery of various assets to the territory of the Russian peacekeeping battalion, bypassing the checkpoint guarded by them.

Concerned with deliberately provocative and unilateral actions of the Moldavian side, the foreign ministry of Pridnestrovie will continue to monitor the situation in the Security Zone for a timely response through diplomatic channels to the provocative attempts undertaken by the Republic of Moldova on the parties contact line.

Tiraspol hosted closed expert hearings on the topic: "Europe and the former Soviet space: current aspects of economic cooperation."

The event was organized by the Foreign Ministry of Pridnestrovie and the Russian Institute of Strategic Studies for the heads of departments of the economic block of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

Nina Shtanski, opening the hearing, stressed the importance of the intellectual capacity to respond to the challenges currently facing Pridnestrovie.

The head of the Pridnestrovian diplomacy opined that the outcome of the upcoming Summit of the Eastern Partnership could disrupt the interaction, which is only beginning to line up in the "5+2" format and in general in the settlement of the Pridnestrovian-Moldavian relations. Obviously, the balance of the interaction can be disrupted. She also noted that the possible outcomes of the Summit in Vilnius in the first place would have a negative impact on the Pridnestrovian economy, which is already operating under a blockade. "I am sure, today's meeting will serve as a good basis for decisions aimed at stabilizing the socio-economic situation in Pridnestrovie," concluded Nina Shtanski.

Vyacheslav Holodkov expressed solidarity with the opinion of the head of the Pridnestrovian diplomacy in the terms that the results of the Vilnius summit will create a very specific prerequisites for rebuilding the foreign policy of Pridnestrovie. However, the Russian expert argues that it is too early to take concrete steps in this direction. According to the Russian expert, one of the main problems of the Pridnestrovian economy is the foreign trade imbalance, ie the excess of imports over exports. Moldova's signing of the Agreement on deep and comprehensive free trade area with the European Union will lead to reduction in price of its products on the European market, respectively, these products will flood the market of Pridnestrovie. The most obvious way out of this situation is to increase exports, as an option, due to the Russian market.

The experts have presented a number of reports that reveal important aspects of economic cooperation between Europe and the former Soviet Union in the context of the planned signing by Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova of initialed documents for entry into a free trade zone with the EU.

To sum up the hearing, the experts of the Russian Institute of Strategic Studies are going to prepare a background paper for the top management of the Russian Federation to get acquainted with the real state of affairs in the socio-economic sector of Pridnestrovie and to develop further strategies to minimize the risks for the country.
